Wire Glasses, Jessica Maurice

I started off the project with the idea of making a pair of glasses out of wire. I came up with this idea when I was at home wearing my glasses and I noticed all the small, intricate details on them (design of the rim, the curve of the ear piece, etc). This inspired me to make a sculpture out of glasses and attempt to achieve the details that I saw on my glasses. The first step I took was building the frame of the glasses. Then I attached them with wire and crafted it into the nose bridge. Finally, I made the ear pieces inspired by the details from by glasses and I attached them to the frame. One challenging part was making everything symmetrical and even. From this project, I learned that it takes time to craft a good sculpture and sometimes it takes multiple tries to reach the final product.
